Medical Support
St. Johns Ambulance will be present for the duration of the event.
Transition
The transition area is a secure zone that only competing athletes and marshals are allowed to enter. The transition surface is completely concrete and quite rough under foot. There is to be NO riding in transition at any time before, during or after the event. Bikes cannot be removed from transition until the last cyclist has finished.
Run Course
The run course is relatively flat, you start inside the grounds of The National Bowl and then do one loop of the adjoining Furzton Lake, completing the course back at transition inside the The National Bowl. When the run course leaves The National Bowl grounds you will be running on a mixture of public cycle paths and gravel paths, both of which are very well maintained. All paths outside of the grounds of The National Bowl will be open to the public so beware of people with dogs, children and bikes e.t.c.
Bike Course
The bike course is held entirely in the grounds of The National Bowl and will be 12 laps. The course is a multi lap twisty circuit on a well maintained tarmac service road. There is a small hill on the course which takes its toll after eleven laps. Please be careful when cornering and overtaking, some of the corners are very sharp and some other riders may not be as experienced as you. As this is a multi lap course you will need to be careful about counting your laps. The course is exactly 10 miles or 16km so if you have a computer make sure you set it to 0 and you will have a double check for when to come in. When you have completed your last lap exit the bike course with care not to hinder other athletes who may not be finishing. Dismount before you enter the transition area but do not remove your helmet before you have racked your bike.
