Arrival and Parking

Registration

Opens from 4pm – 6pm on Saturday afternoon and from 5am – 6:45am Sunday morning.
If you are local enough to register Saturday we would recommend you do this.

Transition

Opens from 5am Sunday and will shut promptly at 6:45am. If you are not in transition by 6:45am you will not be allowed to race.
Please attach your bike label to your seat post before entering transition. This will speed up entry and retrieval. Racking is numbered to match your race number.

Race Briefing

One briefing will be held in the main area next to transition at 6:50am. You are strongly advised to be ready and to listen closely to the instructions given.

Swim Start

Is a brisk 2 minute walk from the Race Briefing so ensure you have everything with you for the briefing. You will be arranged in to wave groups and asked to enter the water ready for your wave start.

The swim is an interesting W shape. The full course map is here
http://www.big-cow.com/public/course.aspx?id=10790&raceid=959

With 10 minutes between each wave there will be plenty of time for a warm up.

Bike Leg

Full map of route is here

Drafting

At the request of the BTF this will be treated extremely strictly. The motorcycle referees on the course have been asked to be extremely vigilant. Those caught drafting will have time penalties imposed and be highlighted in the results. If you are unsure, check the drafting rules on the BTF website.

Drafting is cheating.

Run Leg

Bike Retrieval

Bikes may only be removed from transition once the last cyclist has completed the bike leg. You may collect warm clothing prior to this but be aware of other competitors still racing.
There will not be room for bikes in the main arena or shopping village. If you are not returning to your car with your bike, leave it in transition, it will be safe.
You must return to your car via the ring road with your bike and NOT via the run route around transition. This interferes with people still racing. PLEASE show consideration to runners still racing when returning to your car.
You may not remove your bike without your race number.

Failure to comply with these rules or disregarding marshal’s requests may lead to disqualification.

Presentation

There will be a presentation immediately following the race.
